Between December 2015 and April 2016, I get to work with my first ever intern. I’ve loved hearing how Abby Grace and Anna Shackleford have introduced interns into their business, and I’ve been interested in doing the same! While I was mulling this around, Cameron emailed me. She is a high school student who will be attending Belmont next year and interested in pursuing photography! She is taking a leadership class that requires 60 hours of intern work and so it seemed like the perfect fit! Just to give you an inside look at what we’ll be up to, here is a little list of some of the things:
- social media management
- blog prep + management
- shoot workflow
- second shooting
- business management
I’m so excited to get started! Please give a warm welcome as Cameron introduces herself below!
Hello, I’m Cam! I am so incredibly excited to be working with Ali as an intern. She has already taught me so much and we have only just begun. I can not wait to get to know her audience as well as create my own, so here we go! I think it is important to be known. I want you to be able to relate, connect, and engage with me personally. To start I wanted to share 10 things that you didn’t know about me but make up my unique personality:
- I love cats, coffee, and cardio. I don’t own a cat, but I volunteer at Richmond Animal League every week so that I can spend time with cats and help them at the same time (we’re called the cat crew). I have a coffee addiction, I absolutely love the perfect latte, espresso, or cappuccino that is made by a barista who actually cares about quality coffee (and latte art). I have always been a runner, its my sport and my stress reliever!
- My goal is to become a missions photographer. Last year, I went on my first mission trip to Haiti. It absolutely changed my life and created a passion for a career I would not have developed without the stories of the people I met there and their incredible love for the Lord.
- I went through a few dreams before I started pursuing the one I have today. Originally I wanted to do interior design (just a hobby now), then acting… I was obsessed with becoming an actress because I put on plays throughout my childhood called Grammie Rated Plays (they were preformed only for my Grammie), and lastly I wanted to be a model which is how I got my interest in photography while I was modeling for one of my photographer friends.
- My style is casual: I like sweaters that are just super soft, comfy loose t-shirts, skinny jeans, boots, leather jackets, and the daintiest necklaces!
- I love Switchfoot and Colony House. My brother is the musician in my family so I try to act like I have my own musical tastes, but really most of the music I love was shared by him.
- I said I was going to learn how to cook this year, so I have been trying to cook and have my grandma teach me. . . I have cooked maybe three dinners, so I need to work a little harder on this goal.
- I enjoy writing very random and meaningless poems in my journal when I don’t have anything else to write.
- I am a pescatarian. pesca _tari_an: noun. one who chooses to eat no meat unless it is seafood (similar to vegetarianism). I also have a major obsession with almond milk!
- My favorite colors are the perfect shade of pink and purple. It’s quite specific and I like it that way. The pink is the lightest, palest shade that you can only find in certain winter sunrises and the purple is a very light mauve that is similar to the color of the clouds in a sunset.
- Parent Trap is the best movie. The “new one” with Lindsay Lohan. I can actually act it out for you if you would like. . . I’m not kidding, thats how I spent my childhood.
So now that you know more about me. . . I would love to get to know about you! Everyone has a unique personality and in this day and age it is easy to share and connect. Tell me your story!
