Virginia Beach portrait and lifestyle photographer specializing in comfortable portraits and candids
After a long wedding weekend, usually in Northern Virginia, I’ll come home to a clean house. Chad blesses me by picking up, folding couch blankets, putting papers in a pile to be sorted, vacuums, dusts… and sometimes he goes grocery shopping. He is so much faster at cleaning than I am – I get distracted by the little things. The dust on top of the fridge. The residue from water drops on the glasses we never use. Organizing my sock drawer. You know, the important truly unnecessary things…. ehem…. anyway. Chad cleans the stuff that matters, and I really appreciate that!
The cutest thing, though, is the evidence of the grocery shopping trip. I love coming home to see what he buys when he gets to pick. Lucky Charms and Trix are always winners. But there are sublte things too. I love finding those things because it gives me unspoken insight into what he likes. He picks them out himself, and so I know that he likes them. I guess all guys are different, but if I ask Chad what he wants from the grocery store, nine times out of 10 he’ll say he doesn’t care or he doesn’t know. So I get what I want.
But it’s the box of Snapple.
A fresh bag of chips.
Funfetti cake mix.
The nonfrosted mini-wheats.
It’s the subtleties that are the clues to unpacking just a little more of who my husband is.
It’s been 2 years since I started learning about my husband and I’m excited to see what other little things I’m shown
