Virginia Beach portrait and lifestyle photographer specializing in comfortable portraits and candids
It’s amazing what people can accomplish when they come together for a cause. This past Saturday I was honored to witness the power of human passion, commitment, and determination when I photographed Teardrops to Rainbows’ 2012 Gala. This organization was started, not to “talk about Oz” like most organizations raising money for cancer research and awareness, and talking about the cure. What separates T2R from those is that they are focused on “The Yellow Brick Road.” T2R helps families while they are dealing with cancer – the here and now. I’ve seen it first hand. Providing cars for transportation back and forth to the hospital. Paying for phone bills so that families can afford to communicate during this time. And that’s just the small stuff.
This year, their 10th year, they celebrated the happy moments. T2R recognized the survivors, toasted all of the volunteers, and raised an unprecedented amount of money for the organization to continue to help families with children with cancer. The black and white mid way down is the moment they realized they raised almost double their goal. It was a joyous evening – enjoy the photos!
