It won’t seem so big after a while… you’ll carve out your little pocket and find your comfort zone. You’ll become a “West End-er”, which means you basically live in the northwest quadrant of town (north of the river, west of 95) and will turn your nose up at the thought of having to go to “Southside” with all their toll roads, or even Downtown with all the one-way streets and pay parking (ugh!). If you’re “cool”, you’ll visit Carytown or the Fan… and probably more so than the average West End-er since you’re a photographer who will be in need of something more picturesque than the ‘burbs! But you’ll come to love the convenience of being an hour from the mountains, 2.5 hours from the beach, 1.5-2 hours (in good traffic) from NoVA and the wider scope of amenities in a larger town (10 years ago there wasn’t even a Target in Cville!). So breathe easy, we’ll get you acquainted with the River City! Welcome!
