Second shooting has been a huge part of my growth as a wedding photographer. It’s actually how I got started in this industry, and I still second shoot when I can! It is the best way to learn about and experience a wedding day, sharpen your eye as a photographer, and enter into a mutually beneficial working relationship with other people who do what you do! Each year since I started my own business, I’ve reached out to photographers who also own their own business who are available and willing to second shoot for me, and I have loved that so many of those people have become my friends!

For 2019, I’m looking for 1-2 second shooters who are willing to shoot multiple weddings with me. Here is some information to keep in mind. If you read through, and it is something you’d be interested in, please fill out the form below!

• Servant Attitude. Aside from shooting, your job can range any where from grabbing water to holding my light stand during the sparkler exit, but also entering the groom’s getting ready room being willing to pin a bout! The wedding industry is a service industry. We’re both there to serve my clients in whatever ways we can.
• Teachable. You must have good listening skills, and accept constructive criticism.
• Equipment. You’ll need to own or be willing to rent all of the equipment you’d need to photograph a wedding.
• Location. I shoot weddings all over the state, so you must be willing to travel. Most commonly, Richmond and Charlottesville.
• Compensation. You will be contracted per wedding, and compensated by the hour of coverage.
• Reliability. You’ll need to be proficient in your gear and knowledge of the wedding day. You will receive specific assignments like, “Photograph the groomsmen getting ready,” but you will also need take initiative and anticipate things. 
• Availability. Specific dates will be shared if I respond to your questionnaire, but most of my weddings are on the weekend, with a few Fridays.
