Virginia Beach portrait and lifestyle photographer specializing in comfortable portraits and candids
A few weekends ago I co-hosted a baby shower with my friend Alisha. Her husband, a digital artist and educator, also “dabbles” in renovations. A few years ago they moved from Dallas, TX and bought an adorable house in Richmond, VA that just needed cosmetic changes. But soon after moving in, Kent through out some ideas. So they added a master bathroom and changed the attic into a walk-in closet – you know, small changes…
But one of the final – or so they say – ideas they had was to remove the wall in the kitchen and open it up to the dining room. This was a decision Alisha had a hard time with. She loves old houses and cozy rooms, so she wanted to make sure that knocking the wall down wasn’t going to change that about their home. I had come over a few times during the progress and as soon as I saw that wall down, I knew they’d made the right choice. They finished shortly before the weekend of the baby shower, and I saw the perfect opportunity to photograph their new space! Be sure to scroll down for all of the “before” photos!
