After a short flight and a long drive, my mom and I pulled into the driveway of the cutest little [ok, big] house. I could feel my heartbeat rise as the gravel crackled beneath the tires. “Let’s take a picture!” “Later, mom.” My sweet long time friend would be getting married in two days and I needed to squeeze her.

When Jen first told me she was engaged, I told her to PLEASE let me know, as soon as possible, her wedding date. I decided that whether I was shooting it, in it, or attending, I would be there. NO. MATTER. WHAT. Jen never really asked me to be a bridesmaid. I went with her to try on wedding dresses and her mom just introduced me as one. Unfortunately, I am the worst type of bridesmaid. I’m the one who never shows up to any pre wedding events because of work. As a wedding photographer, most bridal and baby showers are totally out of the question. So my first time hanging with the other girls and celebrating Jen was two days before the wedding.

The day of the rehearsal we all got ready in the same room, like we were going to prom. Curling our hair and doing our make up, we slipped into our party dresses and had an amazing night! The next morning was crazy. Up at 8, shovel some grapes and a slice of quiche down, and start hair at 9am. At 2:30, we were finishing up, and Jen was getting in her dress! I couldn’t help but shoot a few details. I can’t wait to see the photographer’s photos by Ali Rosa!
