As an only child, people always ask me, “Do you miss having siblings?” And I look at them puzzled because how can you miss something you’ve never had? But then I think about the few girls in my life who have been there with me and for me. Whether that means we fought together, cried together, or just have laughed until our insides were sore, Jen, you are one of my “sisters.” I’m so thankful that you came to Virginia over 10 years ago and that you boarded your horse at Cedar Ridge. I remember you loving the color green, owning a horse named Cowboy, and listening to N’SYNC. To all my other friends, you were first categorized as a “horse friend.” But soon, we were combining our worlds and you were no longer just a “horse friend.” We went to each others homecomings and proms by finding each other dates and soon my friends were your friends and vice versa. College brought another level of friendship. One of distance and hardships. Trouble with boys and life goals and plans. But I look back and remember those times as kind of funny now and I’m just thankful I had someone to walk with me.
You have no idea how honored I am to stand next to you as your friend and sister and bridesmaid. I am on the Jen and Tom boat and will support you guys in any way I possibly can. Marriage is hard, but we’ve conquered so much together! Tom will be your partner in life – someone to laugh with and fight with and cry with. But keeping a marriage healthy involves so much and I want to be part of that. I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to see you become a Mrs!
