Yesterday, Chad and I went outside in the snow and built a snowman. We sat on the couch catching up on NCIS while I blogged and caught up on emails and chores. I turned to him at 2:30 and said, “I’m done.” He looked cozy, but I assured him we’d have fun if we went outside. As far as proper snow gear goes, all I currently own are snow boots and a hat. I had on jeans and knit gloves – not the best for snow romping. Chad, not much more prepared, wore his high school tennis warm-up suit pants and his proper snow gloves. Chad rolled the base, I rolled the tummy – it broke when we set it up, so we used the broken parts for the head. Our neighbor gave us a carrot for a nose and we were finished! We walked around our house and threw snowballs at each other, then started kicking slush from the street at each other. It was fun, but when I got inside, I was ready to look outside and see spring.

I’ve never liked winter. I just don’t like being cold. And I love all of the sumer time activities – concerts, the beach, wedding season, fresh garden to table food. I like the anticipation of winter – fall, with it’s pumpkin spice lattes, football, boots for the first time – but once that’s over, and Christmas comes and goes, I’m ready to be welcoming April.

This year, I have a list of things I want to do to make the most of the Summer Time.

Go to an Innsbrook After Hours concert // Plan a styled shoot at the beach
Grow something in my garden // Eat out on our screened in porch
Play guitar with Chad on our screened in porch
Spend all of my time on our screened in porch // Buy a grill
Grill as many meals as we can // Have a backyard dinner party
