As a Williamsburg wedding photographer, I find myself leaving Hampton Roads less and less for shoots. But when my cousin Nellie had to cancel her March wedding due to COVID, I immediately knew we had to do a bride and groom session any where they’d like. After their epic engagement session in Maui, I had a personal goal to make this session just as great. We chose Washington, DC as their location for their Bride and Groom portraits since they live so close to the city, and it was one my favorite afternoons behind the camera. I’m so honored to photograph these moments in people’s life, but when the people are FAMILY, man. It’s hard to describe.
We shot at the National Cathedral and Union Station, two iconic DC landmarks. Thankfully, Ken from Swift Limousine drove us around DC, getting us exactly where we needed to be. My friends at Over the Top Flower Shop designed the most beautiful bouquet for Nellie, and Kristen Foster Hair Artistry provided hair and makeup. Prepare yourself for the best blog post ever!
