Virginia Beach portrait and lifestyle photographer specializing in comfortable portraits and candids
As I wrap up another year, I think about all of my amazing clients who made this year what it was! I love my job and I love all of the people who make it possible. And because of them, I have had a renewed pep this year.
But now is not the time to get emotional, because I present to you the behind the scenes from this year. Most of the BTS photos I get are of my back shooting, and the ones of my face are so bad. So. Bad. Enjoy a laugh at my expense.
Photographing a bridal party is like conducting an orchestra without sheet music. Only it always ends up so beautiful! And yes, those are pink glitter loafers!
Forever picking bugs out of dresses and placing the veil. Example 1.
I know a lot of us wedding photographers refer to ourselves as professional third wheels. And when I jump under a veil, is when that title feels the most appropriate.
Getting ready to turn this pile of people into an extended family photo!
I saw the light on this soybean field and took off, and then convinced the bride and groom to jump in, but I’ll never ask them to do something I wouldn’t do…

Placing the dress and veil #4.
Dress adjustment #5.
This is the good stuff here, folks. Thanks Ashley for this amazing photo of me… mom always said, “use your knees.”
Light check and setting up my flash… much concentration needed.
Veil adjusting #6.
Group photos… how not to smile at the camera.
But let’s be real. I love getting hugs at the end of the night before my couples jump into their getaway car. I will cherish this grainy photo of me and Lauren.
Cheers to the 2020 season and all of the behind the scenes embarrassment that it will bring!
