A few years ago, I met Janie when I went to her house to photograph her florals. She has some serious floral skills. But you know, we all are growing and so are our interests. Ever since we met she’d been talking about wanting to start something more personal.

As she honed her ideas over the next few years, she landed on a fashion blog for women over 50. Although I must say, I look at these photos, and I can’t believe she is over 40! BUT SO NEEDED. Because, it never fails. As we’re grabbing our coffee or walking around or eating lunch, women will comment on every single outfit. I’m so used to hearing people say, “I’m too old to wear something like that.” True style doesn’t have an age limit. You’re not limited to slacks and turtlenecks and cardigans.

Anyway, enter Medley Style.

Not only has she given me opportunities to photograph things that have become my favorite work… like this shoot for Southern Living… one of my favorite things about working with Janie is our friendship we’ve grown. She is a constant encouragement to me. And such a connector – always wanting you to introduce you to people. And she’s always talking about how God is challenging her in her life! She is a woman with a renewed faith, impeccable style, and a personality that shines brighter than all of the lights in Richmond. I know that if you’ve met her, you know what I mean!
