Virginia Beach portrait and lifestyle photographer specializing in comfortable portraits and candids
Chad came home one day in October and asked if I wanted to move to Lynchburg Virginia. He’d been approached about a possible job, and I starred wide-eyed back at him and formulated my response. No offense to any Lynchburg locals, but I’m a beach fan. Moving 2 hours further away from the beach seemed less than ideal, not to mention that most of my wedding work is NOT in that direction. Always trusting that God knows what’s best for us, I said, “Not really, but I will.” We’ve spent the past two months talking, praying, interviewing, and searching Zillow, and the verdict is in. We will not be moving to Lynchburg. After many twists and turns as part of the same story, we officially made the decision last week.
We will be moving to Williamsburg, VA!
It’s so easy for me to make my job work for me when I’m my own boss. I don’t take lightly the fact that being self-employed allows me to keep up with the house and make dinner and be involved with our community and church. But we frequently acknowledge the difference between entrepreneurship and traditional employment. When an opportunity arose for Chad to be considered for a job he’s showed interest in, I’m 100% FOR him pursing it. I’m so proud of him, and I’m even more excited to support him in this way. Many of our prayers have been for him to find a job that he loves, and we feel God has really answered this prayer.
Besides adding an hour commute to most of my weddings next year, I’ll probably be starting to focus my advertising and marketing on the Hampton Roads and Williamsburg area. But that is why I love my job. This will be the fourth time I’ve moved since starting my business. I’m thankful that this job allows me to support my family by being so mobile! I can’t wait to keep y’all updated on this change. I’ll be posting more about this move as things progress here as well as on instagram!
