Virginia Beach portrait and lifestyle photographer specializing in comfortable portraits and candids
It was 2007. My best friend had just gotten married. I wore a pink, iridescent, tea length dress along with the other bridesmaids and as I drove home, I called my mom. She was in the car in front of me, and I couldn’t help but go on and on about MY wedding. I hadn’t even met Chad yet, but I was dreaming of my perfect day while I was still on a wedding high. I dreamed of a black tie affair under the stars on a beach with the sounds of old jazz filling the night. My colors were going to be navy and gold. We would kick our shoes off and run into the ocean at the end of the night. But from 2007 to 2010, things changed. I actually had a man to marry and we planned our wedding as a team. And it was so “us.” I LOVED it. It was so great – the people, the place, the vows, the photos… I’d do it all over again…but maybe not exactly the same…

Obviously I’d marry Chad. But again and again, weekend after weekend, I see brides do some really cool things! When I was planning my wedding, Pinterest wasn’t even a thing. I see the way the industry is changing, and there are vendors and styles I adore. So, just for fun and to lighten up the Marriage Monday series, here are some things and vendors I’d keep in mind if I could “do it again.”

There isn’t much that I would change about our wedding. There are things that I would like a second crack at but I don’t know if different would have been better.
Of course our photographer was excellent!
The only aspect I would want to change is that I wish I spent more time with family and friends throughout the day. It went incredibly fast and I missed out on interacting with so many people who traveled a long way to be part of our special day.
When my pants split at the end of the night. That’s something I would have changed. I would wear something funnier underneath.
Ahhh I LOVE this! Might have to do one like this too:). Definitely second Into It Events for florals and styling help! 🙂
Ali, love your sweet wedding photo! Thanks for thinking of Old Met! If you ever want to renew your vows…. ; )
