We giggled at the number of wolf shirts we’d seen at all of the previous concerts and how it was hilarious that the lady seated next to me was wearing one. Nothing against wolf shirts, but they are unusual, as are the people typically in them. I looked down at what I was wearing – I went comfy for the 99 degree night. And in the seat next to me, Chad was wiping the mud off of his new NEON orange tennis shoes he’d paired with linen shorts and a tank.
Chad and I always have an interesting style. Mine is typically super stylish, or super, eh, comfy… Chad is ALWAYS comfy. But I’d add coastal to his comfy. His closet is laced with Billabong, Quicksilver, and various other surf brands. Plus the J.Crew V-necks he wears with his board shorts.
As the lights went down, the band came on and we quieted our giggles. Then, a family of five walked in. The dad, in board shorts and long hair. The mom, a sweet white summertime dress and a trucker hat that said BEACH, and the kids looked like they may have had sand between their toes. And at the same time, Chad and I looked at each other and said,
“That’s gonna be us.”
