Three years ago yesterday, I held a piece of paper in my hand that said I had started a business. Like turning 25, it doesn’t feel different, but you have this sense that things aren’t the same as they were before. Before. Before, I was under my parents support, and now I had begun a journey to support myself. Before, I was “just for fun,” and now I was photographing for profit. Before, I could turn in any direction, and now, I had a path drawn like lines in the sand.
Yesterday, I prayed with my husband and we thanked God for blessing what I’ve done so far. I have always felt God’s approval in my career choice. He knows me really well – that I work well alone and have a head on my shoulders that can handle a service job. He knows I still have areas I need to grow, but He encourages me in those areas through difficult situations and when I fail. I’m so thankful for how far I’ve come and am really looking forward to what this next year will bring!
