As we packed up for year 3, putting our things in piles and running around our house turning off appliances and unplugging electronics, I checked my email one last time. I was heading to the beach with my husband and knew I wouldn’t be checking my email a ton, so I figured – one more time. There was a note from my aunt and what struck me was the last thing she said…

“I can’t wait to see you all this week to laugh, cry,
and celebrate a well-earned vacation,
share memories of our lost loved ones
and hug each other as much as we can stand.”

Coming off the week, I think we did a really good job of that. I feel so close to my family after these weeks. Like I just want to keep hugging them and telling them they mean so much to me. I know I’m blessed to have a crazy, loving, diverse group of people in my life. I thank the Lord for them and will cherish another year of photos to remind us of such a sweet time.
