This past weekend we went to a concert – The Storyteller’s Concert with Andrew Peterson and Jason Gray. Chad and I LOVE Andrew Peterson. He is one of the best songwriters in music. Every song is a story, so every song just sucks you in, whether or not you’ve heard it before. I have to give thanks to my friend Ricki for sharing his music with us.
One of our favorite songs he has is called Dancing in the Minefields, and it’s his song picture of marriage. It’s painfully but beautifully accurate. My favorite lyric,
“I do” are the two most famous last words
The beginning of the end.
But to lose your life for another I’ve heard
Is a good place to begin.”
reminds me that the daily sacrifices we make for our spouse are so worth it. I hope you enjoy this song! Listen – it’s only 3 minutes of your life – and they’re well spent.
Ali, we had this song sung at our wedding! I loved it so much. Still makes me tear up every time I hear it!
I love this song and the video! 🙂 My husband is very into Andrew’s music!!
