Good Monday morning to you, readers! I has been a long time since my last Marriage Monday post, so I’m happy to be back in the game with this simple little idea. In marriage, there are so many roles you’re playing. “Husband,” and “Wife,” can be broken down into things like best friend, lover, partner in crime, coworker – all of which rear their duties when the time is right, but I’ve found myself getting stuck in one category or the other from time to time.
The other day, I realized how consuming “house stuff” can be. And although we are a married couple, we were coworkers when it came to getting things done. We had the same goals, and were painting, taking breaks, painting, removing wall-paper, sanding, spackling… and after a week of 1am bed times, no showering, paint in my hair, we both expressed the need and desire for a little adjustment. So, meaningful hugs were put into place. Everyday, at any point, but always at least once a day, Chad comes and gives me what I’ve labeled a “meaningful hug.” He wraps me up in his arms and I know that we are married. That he is my husband. And that although we are doing work, he loves me.

Sidenote: I really got confused when I read Katie’s comment and thought I commented already but couldn’t remember saying that. Haha.
