One of the most common “tips” for a good marriage is, “Take some time each day to reconnect.” It’s a really great idea, it works, and it is just needed. You have to create a space for intimacy if you desire it. You can’t just expect it to happen. As I get back in to wedding season, I realize I have only about 6 weekends from now until Novermber so I’m trying my best to really connect with Chad–giving him the time and space we both want and need together. In the same sense, I’ve been sharing a ton of wedding and engagement posts. And I love those! The winter was long, and I’m so ready for this wedding season! But in posting only weddings, I’ve been feeling disconnected from you readers! So, let me share a few personal tidbits with y’all!
315
This one is business related. But I’m so excited I can’t stand it. Just this past week, I hired a designer to help me design a custom website and a mini rebrand! After emailing around, I was referred to 315 Design by a few photographers. The whole process will be complete by the end of the year, so you’ll be hearing about that more!
Corn & Black Bean Salsa
I celebrated a friend’s birthday a few months ago, and one of the dishes was yummy, super easy to make Corn and Black Bean Salsa. I don’t remember what they put in it, so I’ve been making up my own little version. You can eat it with chips, on tacos, make quesadillas… endless options 🙂 Here it is:
1 can of yellow corn [or off the cob now that it’s getting into season]
1 can of black beans
1 lime, juice
salt + pepper to taste
cilantro to taste
MIX IT ALL UP and that’s it!
National Harbor
After this weekend’s Baltimore wedding, I got back to my phone and saw two messages from my mom. She had been invited to spend the evening at National Harbor in a suite after attending the 100 Year Celebration of Naval/Marine Aviation with my grandfather, a Marine fighter pilot. WHICH MEANS, I would be staying with her! As an only child, time with my momma is so special to me. Not to mention getting to see my grandpa! The Gaylord is a bit like The Truman Show…really small enclosed village, but so elegant and shmancy. We had a blast, giggled and slept in our king size bed.
Sandbridge
I’ve been preparing since LAST year’s trip. Our family, who has rarely gotten ourselves together to… get together, is going to the beach ALL TOGETHER for the second year in a row and it’s coming up in ONE MONTH!!! Chad and I are so excited for it. I’m already preparing for the beach, the sand, the food, the photo sessions, the late night Beatles sing-alongs… What do you guys do on your family vacations??
