Live oaks drape the hidden driveways of custom build “beach houses.” The placement and construction of these homes goes beyond strategy and regulations. Because Kiawah Island is a nature preserve, taken into account is beauty, color, design, placement, material, texture, history. The bottom line? You aren’t ALLOWED to build an ugly home, and this home I photographed is no exception.
