A few months ago, I went to a luncheon to help raise money for women who have been swept up in the wave of sex slavery. Properly named Broken to Beautiful, the money from the event went toward a building that would serve as a shelter, a home, and a rehabilitation center for these women. The program supports these ladies on their journey to be able to see themselves as beautiful again, and to know that God can restore their bodies and souls. It was an amazing event, kicked off by a silent auction, a beautiful lunch, and fashion show.
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.

Oh man, how can I get involved with something like this? This topic, human trafficking and specifically sex trafficking, is something God’s been weighing on my heart.
